Concept: The client and I had talked about this project for over year. They were converting a basement room in their house into an ADU for AirBNB purposes. The client was seeking subject matter that gave life and movement to the room without relying on distinguishable images. The pattern I created is based off of traditional water marbling, such as whats found in old books. through some trial and error I discovered a way to achieve a similar look and feel of that pattern, magnified on a larger scale. The room was painted before the flooring was finished to avoid errors, but the design concept was to finish the details of the room in a neutral tones and let the walls express the color personality. Additional furnishing details correspond with the chosen color pallet of mural.
