Concept: In addition to our 10 year anniversary wall, I was able to create a memorial tribute for our beloved crew mate who passed in early 2017. The black and white lettered piece to the left of this portrait was completed by Corey several years earlier and we sought to preserve the history and embellish his piece with a portrait of him next to it. I completed this portrait in gray scale to achieve a timeless appearance and match with the black and white of his piece next to it. We restored sections of his piece that were chipping away without disturbing his original outlines and added a gold frame around it. To the top left of the portrait are white outlined reproductions of his noteworthy styles throughout his career. The photograph that was referenced for this portrait did not include the hat on his head. He was always known to wear a ball cap however and I included an “E“ in his signature style as an embroidered team logo on the front.

Corey was a friend to all he encountered and was an incredibly talented artist with styles far ahead of his time. He was one of the founding members of MAS crew and represented us proudly with commitment and dedication to his craft relying mostly on stock caps when he painted so as to keep his work as authentic as possible.
